Xingang Bionic Marine Plywood Passes World’s Strictest Plywood Test, No Delamination After 72h Boiling Water Immersion

Poor waterproof performance has long been a chronic pain point across the home decoration panel industry. Newly launched by Xingang Group, the bionic marine plywood has passed stringent marine-grade plywood certification, meeting top-tier requirements for waterproofing and weather resistance for furniture panels, making Xingang one of China’s few qualified brands to hit such benchmarks.

After extreme testing including repeated hot-water soaking (4+4+72 hours) plus 16 hours high-temperature drying, Xingang bionic marine plywood delivers flawless bonding with zero delamination; its single-layer bonding strength exceeds 1.10MPa, outperforming global marine plywood standards and reshaping industry benchmarks.

The product went through grueling hell-level qualification trials:

• 72-hour full immersion in boiling water under continuous high temperature and pressure;
• Bond strength inspection confirms every layer boasts bonding strength over 1.10MPa with no splitting or glue failure and intact structural stability, surpassing BS1088 international marine plywood specification which requires 72-hour boiling resistance.

Developed jointly with Academician Li Jian’s research team from Northeast Forestry University, the core bionic green adhesive imitates adhesive protein structure secreted by mussels to form dopamine-like powerful bonding. Featuring outstanding water resistance and flexibility, it solves the traditional defect of easy swelling and cracking under damp conditions.

Tailored for humidity gaps between South and North China, two exclusive formulas (South China Grade & North China Grade) effectively resist moisture intrusion and surface cracking to adapt to varied local environments.

Thanks to self-developed bionic glue, the plywood overcomes traditional multilayer plywood’s drawbacks of excessive formaldehyde, poor waterproofing and insufficient functionality. It reaches HENF heating-grade environmental standard with ultra-low formaldehyde emission at only 0.006mg/m³ and 99.99% antibacterial rate.

It is also China’s first wood panel to pass salt spray corrosion test with superior anti-corrosion property, perfectly suited for high-demand spaces such as children’s rooms and kitchens.
