On April 21, during the 5th meeting of the 3rd Council of National Strategic Alliance for Technological Innovation of Wood & Bamboo Industry, Xingang Group was officially accredited as the Base for R&D of Super-High Door-Grade Particleboard. The honor certifies the enterprise’s technological leadership in wood-based panel manufacturing and marks a major domestic breakthrough in high-end panel production across China’s wood & bamboo sector.

Min Dexiu, R&D Director of Xingang Group, together with his R&D team, delivered a special report covering the newly developed bionic formaldehyde-free particleboard and the accredited innovation base at the high-profile national conference.

By combining innovative bionic adhesive technology, refined flake shaping production and high-performance eco waterproof emulsion, Xingang realizes controllable production of waterproof, high-strength formaldehyde-free particleboard. Three product grades (P2, P6 and P10) have been developed to fit diversified market demands. The new bionic formaldehyde-free particleboard has passed three appraisal certifications rated at internationally advanced technology level, steering high-quality industrial upgrading.

The board boasts outstanding processability and anti-warping capacity: after a total cutting length of 3,616 meters, bending deformation stands at merely 0.83 mm; after three days of vertical storage, the incremental deformation is only 0.27 mm. When processed into finished decorative furniture panels and placed long-term in humid surroundings, the product maintains stable anti-deformation performance without additional straightener accessories.

Widely recognized as top-tier eco-friendly panel in the industry, it exceeds national standard to reach HENF environmental grade, Class I antibacterial and Class I antiviral performance. It has obtained US CDPH certification, top V++ VOC rating, zero-odor healthy building material certification, kid-safe grade certification and China Green Product certification, complying with 24-hour pregnancy & infant-safe environmental standard and setting a new benchmark for healthy indoor living.

As a key implementer of major R&D projects under the National Wood & Bamboo Innovation Alliance, Xingang integrates seven national & provincial R&D platforms including Academician Workstation and Postdoctoral Research Station to build a full innovation chain spanning fundamental research, new product development and industrial mass production. A newly developed large-diameter annular glue mixer (Φ1200mm × 6000mm) plus customized mixing shovels preserve original flake strength and morphology while producing lightweight, high-strength and anti-warp particleboard, solving common industry defects of insufficient strength, fracture and deformation. Self-developed formaldehyde-free bio-adhesive enables integrated large-scale production with zero formaldehyde across the whole adhesive production & application process, combining eco-friendliness with antibacterial & antiviral functions.
